Valiant flat optical components are made from high-purity quartz sands (silicon dioxide) offering exceptional transparency, durability, and thermal stability. Unlike standard glass, quartz plates & windows are preferred materials to transmit light energy in the spectra of deep ultraviolet (UV), visible, infrared (IR). Universally used in applications including optics, lasers, spectroscopy, and semiconductor equipment. Quartz plates & discs are ideal for harsh environments that require resistance to thermal shock, chemical corrosion, and mechanical stress. Widely utilized as furnace observation windows, viewports, high-temperature processes, and vacuum systems.
Grade QL410: Direct Drawn-Electrically Fused
Well-suited for many optical applications that require excellent transmissivity in the UV, visible, and IR spectra. Low bubble and inclusion content renders as bubble-free for thin and small plates. Large plates with diameter/diagonal of 10" or greater contain limited visual bubbles and inclusions. Available in sizable plates of up to 80" diagonal measurements.
Grade QL420: Flame Fused
Produced by flame fusion of high purity natural quartz crystals (over 99.95%), ideal for process applications that demand minimum contamination. The low coefficient of thermal expansion allows flame fused quartz plates to be rapidly heated and cooled with minimal risk of breakage
Grade QL430: Low-Hydroxyl-Electrically Fused
Manufactured using an electrically fused process that renders low aluminum and alkali metal contents. An ideal material for diffusion CVD furnace components, etcher components, wafer carriers, cleaning bath & tanks. QL430 plates are particularly important for infrared applications, minimizing absorption in the "waterband" at 2.73 μm.
